Over 4 consecutive weeks, we will introduce and build on the Classical Pilates Mat sequence as taught by Joseph Pilates in Return to Life. Joseph Pilates defined his unique movement system as Contrology - “the art and science of control” to unite the body, mind, and spirit.
Later, his method came to be known as Pilates. Contemporary approaches often meld other modalities such as Physiotherapy exercises, dance, and Yoga influences into movements that are similar to Pilates, but not the original method.
This workshop series will introduce the authentic method to practitioners, including what the INTENTION is behind each movement and the sequencing.
