Amanda is an artist interested in the expressive potential of the body and getting to know it’s intricate systems. Certified and teaching the misfitmethod since 2017, she is inspired by the transformative nature of working with the energetic body and the creative intelligence of our physiological systems. She has studied Qi-Gong, is a longtime Yoga practitioner and certified Reiki Level 2, in addition to her many years working as a professional dancer and choreographer. She has a specific interest in improvisation and somatic movement. Her favourite part of teaching at misfitstudio is engaging in the ongoing endeavour to connect to our vibrancy and ecstatic potential as an act of critical care. She recently completed Movement for Trauma Level 1 with Jane Clapp, studying the impacts of trauma on our nervous systems and how movement can forge new pathways to resiliency and wellbeing. This Winter and Spring she is studying Kundalini Yoga with Golden Chain.
